DBPR Licensing & Board Requirements

 

All Compass Agents & Referral Directors must be licensed with both the DBPR and the local board in their city (i.e. MAR, RAPB/GFLR, NABOR, etc.).  Licenses and board dues must be renewed annually.

Florida real estate licenses expire with the DBPR either March 31st or September 30th, every other year. The renewal date will be determined by the date the agent passed their real estate exam. Expiration dates are listed on your license.

How To Get Paid

 

In order to ensure a timely turnaround for commission payment processing, please be sure to follow the steps below:

  1. Prior to closing, create a folder in Business Tracker and upload all deal related documents (both buyer & seller side).

    • Pro-tip: create a folder & upload these documents to Business Tracker as soon as you have an executed sales contract or lease. This will help avoid any delays in processing your commission.

  2. Business Tracker will guide you through submitting deal information under the “Commissions tab” once all Compliance documents have been submitted.

  3. Please note that the commission check or wire must have been received by Compass before commission payment can be disbursed. Compass Florida’s wire information can be found here.

Once all three steps are completed, your commission payment will be processed. Please note, our business hours for payment processing are Monday through Friday, with a deadline of 12:30pm for same-day payment processing.

Contract-to-Close Services

 

Setting up Mobile Deposit

 

The Florida Transaction Operations team offers dedicated Contract-to-Close services to our Compass agents. Let our Compass Transaction Coordinators handle your paperwork for you so you can focus on income-producing activities.

As a result of our partnership with JP Morgan Chase, we are pleased to share that you have the option to deposit Compass commission checks via a mobile app!

Under the mobile deposit process, we will require the input of several key data points (i.e., client name, property address, etc.) about each check, enabling us to identify and process closings as quickly as possible while maintaining required regulatory compliance.
